Beer Brewing Supplies

Beer brewing supplies differ only in their size and scope. Even the smallest brews are produced in similar ways to the largest batches produced by major brewing companies such as Budweiser, Fosters, and Miller. The basic components are a container for mixing the initial brewing ingredients and another container that is used for fermenting the beer. Once the beer is ready it is transferred to bottle or kegs for distribution and use.

Beer brewing supplies for home brewing can be found at specialty home brewing stores and sold as kits online. These typically include a 6 gallon stainless steel or aluminum brew pot and a food grade plastic or glass fermentation container that is usually 5 gallons in size. A five gallon food grade plastic bucket is the most common container used for fermentation at home and these can be found in wide variety of places including cooking supply stores.

Beer brewing supplies for microbreweries and larger operations can set a brewer back one hundred thousand dollars easily, but allow much larger batches to be produced for public consumption. These containers are much more difficult to keep sanitized and clean and require perfect recipes because of the size of each batch. While a homebrew that goes bad won't set the brewer back very much money, a large batch or bad brew can ruin a fledgling microbrewery in an instant.
